Why This Skill Is in Demand

Organizations want standardized telemetry across logs, metrics, and traces to troubleshoot distributed systems faster and reduce outages. OpenTelemetry is gaining traction as teams consolidate observability tooling and improve portability.

AI can help surface anomalies and summarize incidents, but it also makes observability more important because systems become harder to debug. Automation will reduce toil, while instrumentation expertise stays in demand.

Future Outlook

12+ yearsestimated market relevance

Observability will remain a core platform concern as systems become more microservice-heavy and AI-driven. OpenTelemetry is likely to stay relevant because it is becoming the common instrumentation standard.
