1. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly, such as your name, email address, resume data, and career preferences when you create an account or use our services. We also collect usage data including page views, feature interactions, and session duration to improve our platform. This may include device information, browser type, IP address, and operating system.
Resume scan (all users, including unauthenticated): When you use our resume scan, we collect and store your resume text (temporarily, for 30 days) and a hashed version of your IP address (for rate limiting). This applies to all users including those without an account.
2. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), we process your personal data under the following legal bases: (a) your consent, for marketing cookies and newsletter subscriptions; (b) contract performance, to deliver our career intelligence services; (c) legitimate interests, to improve our platform and ensure security; and (d) legal obligations, to comply with applicable law.
3. How We Use Your Information
Your data is used to provide career intelligence, generate AI risk scores, personalize recommendations, communicate service updates, and improve our platform. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
4. Data Sharing & Third-Party Processors
We may share anonymized, aggregated data with partners for research. We share data with trusted third-party service providers who help us operate our platform (e.g., cloud hosting, analytics, email delivery). These providers are contractually bound to protect your data. We will never share your personally identifiable information without your explicit consent, except as required by law.
Current sub-processors include:
- Microsoft Azure / Azure Container Apps — cloud hosting and infrastructure
- Stripe Inc. — payment processing
- Resend / SendGrid — email delivery
- Anthropic / OpenAI / Microsoft Azure AI — AI processing (provider configured at runtime)
- Sentry — error monitoring and performance
- PostHog — analytics (if configured)
5. International Data Transfers
Your data may be processed in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate. When transferring data from the EEA, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) or other approved transfer mechanisms to ensure adequate protection.
6. Data Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. You may request deletion at any time from your account dashboard, and we will delete your data within 30 days. Analytics data is retained for 26 months.
7. Your Rights (GDPR & CCPA)
EEA Users (GDPR): You have the right to access, correct, export (data portability), restrict processing, object to processing, and delete your personal data. You may withdraw consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal.
California Users (CCPA): You have the right to know what personal information we collect, request deletion, opt out of the sale of personal information, and not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. India Users (DPDP Act 2023): If you are located in India, you have rights under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 including the right to access your data, correct inaccurate data, erase your data, and withdraw consent. To exercise these rights, Contact Us.

8. Children's Privacy
SkillOS is not intended for individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that a child has provided us with personal data, we will delete it immediately.

10. Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, access controls, regular security audits, and penetration testing to protect your data.

12. Data Processing Agreement (DPA)
To the extent SkillOS processes personal data on your behalf as a data processor (for example, when you upload resume data or career information to generate insights), the following terms apply as a Data Processing Agreement (“DPA”):
Scope and Purpose. SkillOS processes personal data solely for the purpose of providing the Platform services in accordance with your instructions and these Terms. The duration of processing corresponds to the term of your account.
Categories of Data Subjects. Data subjects may include you, your employees, contractors, or other individuals whose personal data you submit to the Platform.
Types of Personal Data. Personal data may include names, email addresses, employment history, educational background, skill information, career preferences, and other data voluntarily submitted through the Platform.
Data Processor Obligations. SkillOS shall: (a) process personal data only on your documented instructions; (b) ensure that persons authorized to process the personal data are bound by confidentiality; (c) implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures; (d) not engage sub-processors without prior notice and an opportunity to object; (e) assist you in fulfilling data subject rights requests; (f) assist with compliance obligations regarding security, breach notification, and data protection impact assessments; (g) delete or return personal data at your direction upon termination; and (h) make available information necessary to demonstrate compliance with this DPA.
Sub-Processors. Current sub-processors are listed in Section 4 above. You authorize the engagement of these sub-processors. SkillOS will notify you at least 30 days before engaging any new sub-processor.
International Transfers. As described in Section 5, transfers from the EEA are protected by Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent mechanisms.
Data Breach Notification. SkillOS will notify you without undue delay upon becoming aware of a personal data breach affecting your data, and will provide reasonable information to assist you in meeting your breach notification obligations.
This DPA is governed by the governing law provision in the Terms of Service. In the event of any conflict between the Terms and this DPA, this DPA shall prevail.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified via email or in-app notification.

1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using SkillOS (the “Platform”), operated by SkillOS Inc., you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, please do not use our services.
2. Account Responsibility
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities under your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use via Contact Us.
3. Acceptable Use
You agree not to misuse the Platform, including but not limited to: reverse engineering, scraping, reselling services, uploading malicious content, violating intellectual property rights, or violating any applicable laws.
4. AI Services Disclaimer
AI risk scores, career recommendations, and all generated insights are provided as general guidance only. They are for informational and educational purposes and are not a substitute for professional career, legal, or financial advice. Use your own judgment and consult qualified professionals for significant decisions. SkillOS makes no guarantees regarding career outcomes.
5. Intellectual Property
All content, trademarks, and intellectual property on SkillOS are owned by us or our licensors. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without explicit permission. User-generated content remains your property, but you grant us a license to display it on the Platform.
6. Payment, Subscriptions & Cancellations
Paid plans are billed in advance on a recurring monthly or annual basis via Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize SkillOS Inc. to charge your chosen payment method automatically at the start of each billing period until you cancel.
You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. Cancellation stops future billing but takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain access to your plan's features through the end of the period you already paid for. We do not provide prorated refunds for the unused portion of a billing period, except where required by applicable law.
Refunds outside of the above are provided at our sole discretion, evaluated on a case-by-case basis (for example, a confirmed billing error or duplicate charge). To request one, Contact Us. Prices may change with at least 30 days notice; continued use of a paid plan after a price change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the new price.
7. Limitation of Liability
SkillOS is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, SkillOS Inc. and its affiliates are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Platform, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of employment opportunities, or loss of revenue.
8. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict of laws principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms will be resolved through binding individual arbitration in San Francisco, California. You waive the right to participate in class actions. If arbitration is prohibited by law, disputes will be heard exclusively in the state or federal courts of San Francisco, California.
9. DMCA / Copyright Infringement
If you believe content on SkillOS infringes your copyright, please submit a takedown notice to our designated agent via Contact Us with: (a) your signature; (b) identification of the infringed work; (c) identification of the infringing material; (d) your contact information; (e) a statement of good faith belief; and (f) a statement of accuracy under penalty of perjury. We will respond promptly.
10. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes via email or in-app notification. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
11. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access for violations of these Terms. You may terminate your account at any time from your account settings.
12. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.

SkillOS uses artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data analytics to generate risk scores, skill assessments, career recommendations, layoff predictions, and other insights (collectively, “AI Insights”). You acknowledge and agree that:
- AI Insights are provided for general informational and guidance purposes only.
- AI Insights are not a substitute for professional career counseling, legal advice, financial planning, or any other qualified professional service.
- AI Insights are based on models, algorithms, and data that may contain errors, inaccuracies, biases, or omissions.
- You should independently verify any AI Insight before relying on it for significant career, financial, or personal decisions.
- Past trends and patterns identified by AI Insights do not guarantee future outcomes.
- We make no guarantees about the accuracy, completeness, timeliness, or reliability of AI Insights.
Layoff Radar, Predictor & Skills Data
Layoff data is sourced from publicly available reports, company announcements, and verified third-party sources; it may not reflect all layoff events globally and figures are estimates. Layoff risk scores are probabilistic estimates computed from historical patterns, recency, and industry density and do not guarantee future events. Salary ranges, demand scores, and job-opening counts on the Skills Demand Heatmap are estimates derived from aggregated job market data and are not real-time figures. Skill longevity and AI-impact predictions are forward-looking estimates and are inherently uncertain.
Salary Data
All salary figures shown are annual median estimates in USD unless explicitly labelled otherwise (e.g., ₹ INR/yr). Salaries vary significantly by company size, negotiation, location within a country, years of experience, and individual performance — use these as directional benchmarks only. International salary figures may not account for local purchasing power parity, benefits, or tax differences.

The Platform may contain content, data, or links provided by third parties, including user-generated content, job listings, and external resources. SkillOS does not endorse, verify, or assume responsibility for any third-party content. Your use of third-party websites or services is at your own risk.

- Reproduce, distribute, publicly display, or publicly perform any portion of the Platform.
- Modify, translate, or create derivative works based on the Platform.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or extract the source code of the Platform.
- Remove, alter, or obscure any copyright, trademark, or proprietary notices.
- Use any data mining, robots, or automated data extraction tools without our prior written permission.
- Commercialize or resell access to the Platform or any content derived from it.
Any third-party trademarks, service marks, trade names, logos, and copyrighted works appearing on the Platform are the property of their respective owners. Reference to any third-party product, service, or organization does not imply endorsement or affiliation.
Trademarks
“SkillOS,” the SkillOS logo, and any other SkillOS product or service names, slogans, or icons used on the Platform are trademarks or registered trademarks of SkillOS Inc. in the United States and other countries. You may not use these trademarks in connection with any unauthorized product or service, in a manner likely to cause confusion or dilution, to suggest sponsorship or affiliation without our prior written consent, or in connection with disparaging or defamatory content about SkillOS. If you wish to reference SkillOS in a publication, website, or marketing material, reach us via Contact Us for permission and branding guidelines.
DMCA Copyright Infringement Policy
SkillOS respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects its users to do the same. See Section 9 (“DMCA / Copyright Infringement”) above for how to submit a takedown notice. If you believe material you posted was removed as a result of a mistaken or misidentified DMCA notice, you may submit a counter-notification via Contact Us including: your physical or electronic signature; identification of the removed material and its location before removal; a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief the material was removed by mistake or misidentification; your name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address; and a statement consenting to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for the district where your address is located (or the State of California, United States if outside the United States), and that you will accept service of process from the person who submitted the original notice.
